Well, here we areā¦all ready to learn more about Creating a Wiki using Wikispaces. Welcome!!!! You might be wondering why I am using a BLOG when we are learning about wikis? Well, I am actually going to model the course from a wiki...yes...but I am going to use the blog for you to comment on! There used to be a time when you could add a Blogger blog to a Wikispaces wiki, but that features seems to have disappeared. I just can't work out how to get a useful discussion page going on a wiki, so I am using this blog instead.
Because I know how busy teachers are this will hopefully be a stressless, course that you can come back to later. Enjoy! I really would like you to comment every week even if you have done NOTHING just to show me that you are "out there". That is very important on an online course.
Course content Week 1: How to create a wiki using Wikispaces (7 May) Week 2: Make your wiki look and work like a website (14 May) Week 3: Add writing, photos, audio and video to your wiki (21 May) Week 4: Using your wiki for online projects (28 May)
Introduce yourselves
For now I just want to see who is definitely keen to continue with this course. So please introduce yourself saying:
Who you are
What you do every day in your job
Why you are particularly interested in creating a wiki
Whether you have decided on what kind of wiki you would like (this could change after I show you the types of wikis that are around)
Once we know who is on the course a feeling of community emerges.
How to comment
If you are not sure how to comment I have added a page called 'How to comment' at the top of the blog. Basically you
Go to the comment box and write your comment
Choose a profile. Try and choose the Anonymous profile as it is the easiest (unless you wish to use a Google account). If you use Anonymous PLEASE remember to add your name in brackets.
Press submit.
Once you have introduced yourself I will send you the link to the wiki. From now on will be sending you a weekly email letter with the week's programme on it.
That's all for today. Click on the word 'comment' below and start writing!

As you know we started the course a bit late and so this week I am basically finishing Week 1 on Tuesday evening (15th May) and am then going into Week 2 for the rest of the week. Crazy I know!
Please add your reflection for the first part (which I call Week 1 - creating the wiki) in the comment box of this post. How did it go? Maybe you haven't got started? Whatever it is...please just say so! (Then I will know you are still out there and I am not alone in cyberspace!) Have you created your wiki yet? If you have this is the place to add your new address. To be honest - I can't wait to see the wikis! Please do not be shy to add your details no matter how basic you feel it might be! We're all in this together.
